Gaiman does an awesome job at brining mythology to life in a present day setting. Gripping story that is very entertaining.

I couldn't make it through the darn thing. It was just... dull.

Bob
I love Gaiman, but this is a weak book. The world is vivid, but Shadow is utterly without character, without emotion. The literary equivalent of Keanu Reeves.

An excellent book. Incredibly written. Constantly surprising. I loved the characters and the story so much.

pmthecat
While I got most of the references and names, I felt like I had to have a score card to keep track of all the players.

With a two man con and gods old and new, what else but a great power struggle could ensue.

Unlike anything I have ever read before. Gaiman is utterly unique and the story is utterly gripping. Left me wishing for more.

ender1387
A great read and no doubt his most conventionally structured novel, his integration of myth into everyday life is seamless and beautifully done.

Blew me away from the first pages. Fascinating exploration of mythology that kept sending me to the web to look up people, places and gods. Wednesday is great.

herrlehmann
It's good, but compared to his other novels it's inferior. Quite close to his graphic novels.

Ragnell
I enjoyed it, Gaiman's a great writer, its an interesting concept and I'm fond of stories with Odin and Loki but I'd call this a one-time read.

NockerGeek
Gaiman is a master at re-examining classic mythologies in modern settings, and this book is a perfect example of his skill.

Chris
Gaiman manages to create a fantasy world wrapped in our normal every day world that is completely fantastic and completely believable.

I like Neil Gaimen's books. I have never read his comics, though. It's interesting, but you must keep up with it to understand what is going on at all times.
