It's interesting. The 'adversary' in the homelands does intrigue me more than the main conflict in this volume, I must admit. But the characters are engaging.

Fables is a fantastic series full of bright, vivid characters and fascinating relationships and intricate stories.Sadly, the first volume is easily the weakest.

Glad I was able to pick this volume up. Does a great job of introducing the main charas & seeing a glimpse of the storylines to come.

It was a good try, but none of the characters or stories captured me whatsoever. I was left with absolutely no reason to pick up the next volume.

The first volume of Bill Willingham's incredible series. Not the best that's come so far, but still a must-have for its memorable introductions of the cast.
