Philip Seymour Hoffman, as always, captivates. While the film's subject matter is absolutely depressing, his performance makes it worth seeing at least once.

Hoffman is amazing, I can't deny that. Archibald is pretty good too. But it's difficult for me to get behind any movie when I can't root for the protagonist.
