Reminded me a lot of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The ending made me want to go bowling. I liked the long, drawn-out development of the main character.
It took me a little while to get into this but once I did, I actually started the movie over and enjoyed it thoroughly.
DRAINAGE! I drink this movie up. Despite some tiny stumbles in the structure, it remains one of the most magnetic character studies and lush period pieces ever.
