It's gritty and watchable stuff. The dog fighting looks particularly brutal (until you see them try to shag each-other in the DVD extras).

Before 21 Grams and the full-of-itself Babel, Inarritu made this bittersweet mosaic. While his others garnered greater praise, this is the far better film.
