3rd after Old Man's War and Ghost Brigades. Good character insight, though at times Perry gets a little Mary Sue-ish.

The Ghost Brigades
"I liked OMW a little better. Scalzi's got a good sense of humor though occasionally the writing itself needs a little more polish." – krmaxwell
Old Man's War
"I read Old Man's War in about 2 days. It's a fun read and Scalzi is an engaging author. " – htmljenn
The Last Colony
"stolid sci-fi, not particularly inspiring but some good bits" – hieronymus
Old Man's War
"Fantastic novel! Great pacing and story, lovable characters, and amazing concepts. Scalzi does a great job of allowing your brain to fill in the missing pieces." – DrSetebos
Scalzi's visions of Humans competing for their place in the universe continue. Strong, sharp writing that continues to feel right up there with Heinlein or Bova.
Feels like the first time I read Haldeman or Heinlein. Smart, interesting, a bit brutal, but fun and very captivating.
