Thanks Lou! To your suggestions:
1) TV shows are already in the works; the only reason they're not here yet is reliable data is very difficult to come by... we had to license it.
2) We hadn't ruled this out, but had put it on hold until we heard feedback; it looks as if most people are in your camp though, interested in blipping people as well as media and we're definitely putting it in our roadmap
3) Upon making the site public beta we are going to change the home link completely; that includes exactly what you're talking about, making the home page for users more of a useful page like FB's, rather than a generic "all blips" page

A couple of thoughts on stuff i'd like to see on blippr:
- TV Shows - this is a must have
- Blips on actors, directors, musicians, authors not only the movies, albums and books
- A home link pointing to my blipstream, much in the way of twitter's home or facebook.
