I have to follow you Julia! I disagree with almost every blip I've read of yours so far, that I'm fascinated! :D

Ha, I suppose that's as good a reason as any!

Tonight, I got a reminder that I hadn't accepted your invitation, but I never got the invitation email...very strange indeed. If you need an additional invite for anyone, since I wasted yours, let me know.

That's so weird. I actually didn't mean to send a reminder. I was looking at my invite list and there was this thing that said send reminder next to your name, but it didn't look clickable, so when I accidentally clicked, I was surprised. But don't worry, I have enough invites for now.

I like things like Super Mario Galaxy best, but my friends force me to play various Xbox multiplayer games on Live. Because they hate me.

lol and how is that working out for ya?

You should now have more invites to send out. Let me know if you need any more. And thanks again for all your helpful feedback and evangelizing the site to others. We appreciate it!

Okay Julia. We'll roll that change into our product roadmap just for you! And I'll have Chris get you more invites by the end of the weekend. Look out for more than 5.

Thanks for all your feedback. We don't take it for granted. =D

The RSS feed would be helpful, but if it already sends an email when you click "quote" would it be difficult for it to send an email when you click "reply" right next to it?

It would absolutely be possible, but one thing we found from analysis was most people were clicking "reply" to a certain post purely because they wanted to add their two cents on the blip itself, but they weren't necessarily replying to a user's post. Most were replying to the blip when clicking that button, and therefore, it might have led to the same thing we tried to avoid by not emailing someone every time there's a post on a blip you've discussed.

But again, we're willing to explore other options. Do you think we should make the email-every-time-there's-a-post an option, but not make it the default for everyone, rather giving them the option to opt-in? That's certainly possible.

In regards to your post on my talkback Julia:

Ok, I'm getting emails when people comment on my blips, but when someone replies to a comment I left on someone else's blip, I don't get an email about that. Anyway to change that? (I can see this being annoying if you get an email every time someone leaves a comment to a blip you commented on, but maybe just when they reply specifically to you?)

Currently, if anyone clicks "quote" on your discussion post, even if it's not your blip, you would get an email for that, as well. However, as you noted, we wanted to stay away from annoying users and inundating their inboxes with emails about every discussion thread (which it would undeniably do as we open up blippr to more users). However, here are two potential solutions, the latter of which we already had on our product roadmap, but hadn't integrated yet:

    1. Offer RSS feeds and/or email registration for discussions you're interested in being updated on every time there's a post.

    2. Offer you an RSS feed of "my discussions" page which would inform you when there's been a new post to any of the discussions you're participating in currently.

Let me know if one or both of these would help solve your problem. If not, we're open to additional suggestions. Thanks for your feedback and heavy blipping! If you're interested in more invitations to send friends, just let me know the number and I'll have my business partner, Chris, get those to you tomorrow. Thanks Julia!
