Excellent story told at an almost frightening frantic pace. It’s as if you are reading an over-the-top film script in a sensible way. Get it!

  • Quote Terminator-salvation
    cyhwuhx liked Terminator: Salvation
In the end it’s still enjoyable, but the story hangs too much on old installments. It’s a confusing mess and a rather mundane action film. DVD yes, theatre no.

    Infamous
“Certainly as good [as Capote] and a lot more fun. Toby Jones is so physically right, you’ll think Capote is playing himself.” – Jack Mathews, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS 1959 Manhattan was a party, and none of the glitterati glittered brighter than Truman Capote. Then he saw a story in The New York Times: “Wealthy Farmer, 3 of Family Slain,” and the party ended for Capote. He plunged into the murder case that inspired his great “nonfiction novel” In Cold Blood and led him into a fevered relationship with one of the two doomed killers. But there’s more to the story than you know. Toby Jones (as Capote) leads Sandra Bullock, Daniel Craig, Sigourney Weaver and many more stars in a witty, moving and astonishing tale of obsession. What happened to the extraordinary literary talent that burned within Truman Capote? The answer may be found in a story at once famous and Infamous.

cyhwuhx loved Earth Defence Force 2017
The best alien pulp-shooter ever. Period. Scoff it all you wish: your jaw WILL drop. Its only blemish is the lack of an online co-op next to the offline one.

cyhwuhx loved Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
A direct sequel to Aria of Sorrow updating everything, except the artwork. The best ‘Metroidvania’ on DS with a delightfully improved skill-system.

cyhwuhx liked Flower, Sun And Rain
A great setting/story filled with bizarre characters and some mundane adventuring. Too bad the ending disappoints and relies on the knowledge of another game.

One large in-joke, yet it plays so darned well! Some seriously deranged characters and an off-the-wall plot make it into one neat package.

Classic gaming experience, updated for a new age and with some extra subtleties to boot. Online mode is just icing on the cake.

More of a toy than a game, but one that proves to be oddly fun. It doesn’t seem to have any purpose, but in the end your stretching does amount to something.

Short, but surprisingly powerful in both audio and video departments. Reminds you of other ‘important’ games without ever feeling wrong. Blissful.

  • Quote Slumdog-millionaire
    cyhwuhx loved Slumdog Millionaire
It starts off as a true family film but then manages to put more bite and bark in, to such an extent that you even take the sappy stuff for granted. Great!

A truly excellent setting mixes a lot of clichéd elements to great effect. But the film hasn’t got a clue what to do with them. In the end it turns train wreck

Unexpectedly good. Nice and layered until it becomes a chaotic mess that ends in exactly the same fashion.

The initial feeling is that of bliss, but the game unexpectedly lets down after the first rush with a very unsatisfying ending. This could’ve been way more fun.

cyhwuhx liked The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008)
Nice film, that despite the moralistic undertones manages to make a rather engaging realistic sci-fi. Don’t expect action; expect a nice ‘in between’ story.

cyhwuhx liked Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Fun powers and control give it legs. However the game’s focus on the latter half makes the first half weak and the game slightly uneventful in the end.

Short and cramped. The main quest line is over before you know it. Combat is also very flaky without weight, and the characters are from uncanny valley. Meh.

Best platform game ever? Using the DK Bongos for a non-music game is brilliant and makes the game fun, physical, challenging and surprisingly deep. Essential.

The concept and layout of the game is good and to a certain extent even fun. But everything you do is devoid of reward or emotion. It’s completely soulless.

For an animation it’s heavier than you might expect, but that’s the point. Makes you think about the power of images of any kind.

An awesome experience. But after the culture shock it’s a bit lacking in the game department and can feel like a step back for the series. Do play it, though.

A digital rendition of a Scalextric track. It’s mind boggling how it can cram so much variety in there, but variation can’t cover up the too simple mechanics.
