Have you ever thought to yourself, "Gosh, it's really annoying I can't organize all the media I've encountered over my brief years on this little planet known as Earth..."? Us too!

Don't worry, though, there's no reason to think that anymore. blippr lists give you a new, easy way to quickly organize all those books, video games, movies, music albums, songs, and (soon) TV you come across in life, whether you recommend it or not. There are two types of lists we offer to answer this dilemma.

Standard lists, which you automatically starts with when you join blippr, include:

  • Your sphere: This is the only list you have which is updated every time you blip something. Think of it as a way for you to keep track of everything in your sphere of experiences, per se, whether or not you dig it.
  • Your queue: This serves as a "to-do" list of sorts, helping you remember stuff you haven't gotten around to yet.
  • Wish list: Finally, you'll have a place to keep track of everything you want to buy later, but might otherwise forget. You could have your friends and family buy stuff from this list for you, too. Hint, hint.

Unlike standard lists, custom lists allow you to organize your own media however you want. For instance, you might create lists for Music I Own, or Loin-Shaking Action Movies, or possibly, Best Classic Rock c. 1979. Be as broad or as specific as you want. It's your media and they're your lists.

Organize-1

Some other quick organization tips:

  • Square-11
Create as many lists as you want. There's no limit to the number of lists you create, so feel free to go a little bit nuts.

Add stuff to lists as you go. Organization is one of those on-the-fly things that shouldn't happen in one place alone. Just click the dropdown on any "blip it!" button to add stuff to your lists as you browse the site.

Tell us what you're not interested in. Whenever you come across a title you don't want to see again, be sure to click "not interested" in the "blip it!" dropdown menu. That will hide it from your results and improve your recommendations in the future.

Manage your lists. When viewing your lists, you have the tools needed to remove individual or grouped titles from lists, as well as quickly copy them to other lists. Also, if you want to add a title to your list, you don't have to skewer blippr for it. Just start typing a title in the quick search and we'll show you some matches.

Control who sees what. We know privacy is important. When creating or editing your custom lists, choose the privacy setting you want. It's okay... we all have those guilty pleasures we may not want the world—or at least our parents—to see.

Import titles from other services. Rather than make you add titles to lists over and over again, we know that you're probably using services like iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, and others. It's not here yet, but soon, blippr will enable you to import libraries from other services to help you, as painlessly as possible, centralize (and make portable) your media opinions and recommendations.

There are bound to be more ways for you to organize media within the context of your social network on blippr soon, but for now, let's talk about the most important part of all this jazz — your social network.
