Le Tote Review

If you’ve looked through your closet and wished you had more variety in your wardrobe but don’t want to spend a lot of money for it then Le Tote clothing rental service might be for you.

If you’ve looked through your closet and wished you had more variety in your wardrobe but don’t want to spend a lot of money for it then Le Tote clothing rental service might be for you.

It’s an eco-friendly way to add wardrobe basics and statement pieces without buyer’s remorse. Le Tote is a great option if you’re gaining or losing weight and don’t want to spend money on clothes that will only fit for a short amount of time. You can also do less laundry, because Le Tote doesn’t require you to wash clothes before returning them.

How Does It Work?

Start by filling out a profile to note your favorite colors, any weather considerations, style preferences, and your sizes. Then you can browse items and add them to your virtual closet, which gives Le Tote’s stylists an idea of what your favorites are. They’ll work to find similar items if the ones you’ve chosen aren’t available.

You’ll get a preview of your box before it ships and you can swap out items if you’d like to try something different from what they’ve picked. You can hand pick everything for the box yourself if you’d like. Depending on inventory, what you placed in your virtual closet may not be available for shipping at that time.

Once you receive your box, keep the items for as long as you’d like. Return them when you’re ready. If you love any pieces you may purchase them. There’s no need to wash clothes before returning them because Le Tote takes care of that upon receipt to prepare them for the next person. If you’re on the free trial, the clothes need to be sent back at the end of the trial period.

Anything from one Tote you’re returning all has to be returned together in a prepaid shipping bag. You’ll be charged for anything that’s not in that bag. You can always return something and rent it again in a future Tote.

How Much Does It Cost?

Prices start at $79 per month for the classic plan and $89 per month for maternity clothes. The monthly prices increase depending on how many items per month you wish to rent. They have once-a-month and twice-a-month plans.

There’s free shipping both ways and an insurance plan of $5 per month, in case anything you wear but want to return gets damaged.

Pros and Cons

  • Le Tote doesn’t carry formal wear specifically but they do have nice clothes for occasions such as dates and professional meetings.
  • They offer maternity sizes.
  • The service is great if you’re traveling someplace that’s a different climate from where you live. Get clothing for that climate and keep it only for as long as your trip. And there’s no laundry when you get home – simply mail it back.
  • Le Tote carries popular, well-known brands.

Some people find Le Tote pricey unless you’re the type of person that shops for clothes all the time. Le Tote can save you money and it keeps your closet from becoming overcrowded with clothing that doesn’t fit or has lost its appeal. There’s always something new to try.
