Men who are seeking an effortlessly stylish casual wardrobe, but who don’t like to shop or don’t have the time for it should seek out Menlo Club. Menlo Club features exclusive contemporary menswear, athleisure wear, and footwear from its own brands for business casual events, weekends, and dates.
How Does It Work?
Start by taking an online quiz so they can determine your style preferences – Casual, Classic, Forward, or Mix – and your sizes. A curated box of generally two or three items is shipped to you each month based on your style choices.
One feature that Menlo Club offers is a calendar showing which months are dedicated to which of their brands, so you have an idea of what to expect in your box: footwear from New Republic, Grand AC for athletic and athleisure wear, and Five Four for trendy wardrobe staples. You can see which brand is coming up and decide if you want to skip that month because you don’t need or don’t want what they might send.
All boxes are shipped at the same time every month so depending on when you sign up it could be a few weeks before your first box is shipped. You may cancel any time but it must be done before the 14th of each month if you don’t want to receive that month’s box. Subscriptions may be suspended for up to three months at a time.
They do not offer returns and it is not a try-before-you-buy service. You must keep what they send you unless there’s a size issue, in which case clothing may be exchanged. The exact item may not be available in the different size so a comparable item may be sent in its place.
How Much Does It Cost?
Menlo Club charges a flat fee of $60 per month for generally two or three items per box. The items retail at about $160. Shipping is free to most U.S. locations with a $7 surcharge for shipping to Alaska and Hawaii. They ship to Canada for a $25 surcharge and to the UK for a $30 surcharge.
The monthly membership also includes discounts on items, access to members-only items, and free shipping from the Menlo House online store.
Is It Worth It?
Men who love Menlo Club’s style appreciate a box of new seasonal items each month to round out their wardrobes. It’s one of the lower-cost services for experimenting with new clothes so many customers find it worth the price.
