If you’ve ever looked around and thought that somehow everyone else looks stylish and put together in casual clothes, yet you don’t, the secret may be trendy, better-quality clothing. ThreadBeast offers casual, hip streetwear for men and boys who want to dress comfortably but look better. The Los Angeles-based company features influential and trend-setting brands and includes accessories along with tops and pants.
How Does It Work?
Start by filling out an online profile with several questions to determine your style and sizes, then select your plan and budget. They ask you to name some of the stores and brands you like best and to select your measurements for tops, shoes, waist, height, and weight. They offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate boys through big and tall men.
A stylist curates a box based on your preferences, sizes, and if there’s a specific occasion you need clothing for. Let the stylist know if there’s anything you particularly do or don’t want. They can’t make any guarantees but will try to find similar items to what you ask for. Then sit back and a wait for a box of stylish clothing to arrive at your doorstep. They ship to all U.S. addresses including APO, FPO, and P.O. boxes.
How Much Does It Cost?
ThreadBeast is a subscription service that charges you and sends a box every month unless you choose to skip a month within a certain deadline. Boxes are sent every four to five weeks and must be cancelled or suspended within seven days after receiving a box if you no longer wish to continue with the service.
- The Basic Plan ($55 per month) includes two to three items, mainly tops and accessories.
- The Essential Plan ($85) includes four to five items, mainly tops, bottoms, and accessories.
- The Premium Plan ($135) includes six to seven items, mainly tops, bottoms, accessories, and pieces including premium denim and outerwear.
- The Baller Plan ($250) comes with nine to 11 items, including a variety of shirts, outerwear, bottoms, accessories, premium pieces, and shoes. This is the only plan that features footwear in every package.
Are There Any Drawbacks?
Unlike other clothing boxes, this is not a try-before-you-buy service and you don’t get to see what’s in the box and make changes before it ships. There is no option to return items and only pay for what you keep. You have to keep everything they send you unless it’s a size issue. If something doesn’t fit, they’ll take it back and exchange it for a different size but if they don’t have that item in the size you want they’ll send you what they think is a comparable item. Customers have claimed it’s difficult to suspend and cancel subscriptions so it’s important to read the FAQs and terms of service carefully.
Is It Worth It?
If you love the style of clothes they provide, most people find they love the service. Parents have found it a great way to help their teenage sons find a sense of style. But it can be an expensive way to try new clothes that you can’t return.
